GRACIDA GRAN RESERVA 2011

TASTING NOTES

The Gracida Gran Reserva is deep cherry in color with violet hues. The aromas consist of red plum, cherry, herbs, cocoa, tobacco, leather and vanilla. Tempranillo is one of Spain’s greatest varietals show cased in this wine after two years in American and French oak. Cabernet Sauvignon provides great structure and acidity in this complex and excellently balanced wine.

SUGGESTED FOOD PAIRING

Steak, stews, roasted lamb, duck, grilled pork chops, sausage, pork chile verde, short ribs, herb roasted chicken, lasagna, rich pastas and risotto with roasted veggies.

WINEMAKER NOTES

Our vineyards are planted in clay and calcareous soils in a continental climate. We harvested the Tempranillo in the third week of September and the CabernetSauvignon the following week. Fermentation lasted 10days at a temperature of 68-77°F and 15 days of post-fermentative maceration. The Gran Reserva wine spent at least 24 months in American and French oak barrels prior to bottling and almost the same time in bottle prior to being released.

LOST DRAW TEXAS HIGH PLAINS RED BLEND

TASTING NOTES

This smooth drinking red is a great representation of a good Texas blend. It’s common that we age our red wines in 2nd use or neutral French oak. We really like to showcase the actual grape varietal and less of what it’s aged in. This helps to make our wines very friendly to drink and fruit forward.
